Warm/Cool Fish

Last year the sixth graders explored color theory with cool/warm parrots. This year we tried something new. Students created cool colored paper with various watercolor techniques. I believe the plastic wrap on wet paper was their favorite. They also made paper with warm colors.

They tore up the cool paper to make a sea when the papers dried. Then, they used warm paper to create sea life. The results are a mixed media collage with high visual contrast.
